This project included converting warehouse space to a new, 10,000-SF Process Development Laboratory Suite. The suite consists of clean process rooms, laboratory HVAC and medical grade compressed air systems. The project was built and validated to industry and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.

This 15,000-SF, interior demolition and renovation of a pharmaceutical plant packaging line included the demolition of the existing office space and equipment areas to make way for the new construction of a fully automated packaging line, a clean room and office space to support the manufacturing plant. The new construction also included a rework of the floor plan to include new walls, ceilings and epoxy flooring a new HEPA filtration and new BMS system. This project now provides Noven Pharmaceuticals with the ability to manufacture and provide trans-dermal products to expand their USA market capacity.

Skanska completed a multi-building renovation to this active campus to provide a global program headquarters for cutting-edge robotics technology. Relocating select office, warehouse, distribution, receiving and related functions, we delivered a 49,182-SF manufacturing facility that contains multiple departments including engineering, assembly, repairs, sterile packaging, and robot assembly as well as a café and dining space. We also completed a 49,127-SF transformation to create a campus Welcome Center, Interactive Customer Engagement Center, demonstration studios, business lounge, open workspaces, training rooms, teaching/research labs, locker rooms and a grand hall.

In support of Moffitt’s pursuit of early stage translational research to support cancer therapies, Skanska delivered a 30,000-SF vivarium designed to house a research facility, office space, micro-MRI scan, micro-PET scan and other ancillary areas. The vivarium includes containment barriers and quarantine space designed to meet National Institute of Health standards for Biosafety levels, and pathogen free space to ensure that ongoing research is not inadvertently affected by airborne pathogens. An additional 40,000-SF of highly technical lab space including BSL-1, -2 and -3 level labs also included in the project.
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, Vivarium and Laboratory Research Facility

Tampa, FL | 96,000-SF
M2Gen is the result of a partnership formed between H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and drug maker Merck & Co. They teamed together to develop personalized cancer treatment for patients using molecular technology. The M2Gen project houses an initial four-story, 96,000-SF bio-tech building to support the M2Gen operations. The first floor is made up of the tissue bank where the side effects of drugs will be tested on DNA in multiple BSL-2 laboratories. The intent is to be able to store up to 6.5 million samples within five years. All of the storage is cryo-bank type freezers that use liquid nitrogen (LN2). The second floor primarily consists of administrative space with the third and fourth floor as shell lab space.
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, M2GEN
Why this project matters
St. Petersburg, FL | 230,000-SF
The state-of-the-art space unites the four institutes of treatment, education, research and advocacy in one building. Labs for bench and translational research, facilities for a pediatric biorepository and a biomarker discovery center are housed in the facility. Our team also constructed a 400-person auditorium, imaging and examination areas, 50,000-SF of office space, collaborative areas and an enclosed air bridge.
Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, Research and Education Building
Why this project matters
To expand the University's applied research capabilities, we delivered a space program that incorporates 59,000-SF of research laboratories, 27,000-SF of research support offices and conference rooms, and 4,000-SF for student and study support spaces. The LEED Silver certified facility was built to augment existing research capabilities and add much-needed space for specialized labs and powerful research instruments.

The college of medicine and cardiovascular research institute—delivered under a design-build contract—is a 13-story high-rise in a new downtown Tampa district that is focused on wellness and sustainability. The facility includes clinical spaces, research laboratories, faculty offices, a library, common spaces, and two 200-person auditoriums with state-of-the-art technologies to allow for teaching flexibility. The project provides both a stimulating learning environment for students and dedicated space for cardiovascular research targeted to diagnosing and treating CV disease.

Skanska completed the core and shell construction of a mixed used laboratory and office facility for the USF Research Foundation. This three-story building includes retail, dining and meeting rooms on the ground floor with offices and labs on levels two and three. A green rooftop terrace event space was also constructed.

Multiple tenants occupy this semiconductor research, development and manufacturing facility due to an innovative infrastructure platform. The facility includes clean rooms (Class 1,000 and 10,000), offices, analytical laboratories, a data center and related ancillary spaces. Upon completion, it was touted as the most advanced manufacturing facility in the Western Hemisphere.
